  1. If I had to choose the organism with the best adaptation, it would be the octopus. They can mimic other species, camouflage, ink when in danger, and grow or shrink. They have great adaptations that is why I prefer them.

  2. The squids are most harmed in their adaption. This is because humans take the more young squid out of their habitat and kill them. That is because people cook the squid legs and put them on the menu for people to engoy a wonderful dinner. Also people the baby squid out of there habitat to give to schools for dicections. The smaller the squid are the easier it is to dicect or serve the squid. That is why the squid are more harmed than the cuttlefish, octopus and the chambered nautilus.

  3. The Squid and Octopus have the most effective adaptations because they can camouflage and hide in things. The Squid has a feather like spinal cord. It is called the pen. The pen is the thing that holds the Squid in the sphere like shape. Without it it would be very flimsy and would not get anywhere. Squid skin on the top is darker then the skin on the bottom. The skin on the top is darker so if a predator is above them they blend in with the bottom of the ocean. The skin on the bottom is lighter so if prey/predator is below them and looks up they blend in with the top of the ocean. Octopus can mimic other sea creatures or camouflage to be a rock or be part of a piece of corral. Octopus use this to sneak up on their prey or hide from their predators.

  4. I think the octopus has the most effective adaptations. I think this because octopus can blend in/camouflage in with their surroundings. Also they have 3 forms of attack. Octopus also have many arms to swim with. Unlike the chambered nautilus.

  5. The cephalopod I think has the most effective adaptations is the octopus. Some of their adaptations include camouflage, suckers, and their siphon. Their camouflage is an important adaptation because it helps them blend in and stay away from their predators, and when they are trying to catch prey, the prey can’t see them as easily. Another adaptation is their suckers. The suckers, found on their arms, help them grab and hold onto things in the ocean. The last adaptation is their siphon. The octopus’s siphon helps them swim faster, by using jet propulsion. The siphon also helps them excrete waste and ink. The octopus clearly has the most effective adaptations out of all of the cephalopods.

  6. I think the octopus would be the Cephalopod with the best adaptations. The octopus doesn’t have a shell, not even on the inside, making it so it can squeeze into tight spaces. They also have eight tentacles, all of them have suction cups so they can hold onto prey or rocks. Their tentacles also have taste sensors that let the octopus know if what it’s holding is worth eating. It has sharp beak to crack shells. Some species have the ability to inject its prey with a toxic substance and change colors to camouflage.

  7. After gaining knowledge about octopus, squid, cuttlefish, and chambered nautilus I think that the octopus has the greatest form of adaptation. The octopus has the ability to camouflage within it’s surroundings. For example the octopus could change it’s color and texture of it’s skin to match the coral around it. Squid, chambered nautilus, and cuttlefish do not share these functions. This form of camouflage can help the octopus hide from predators (things that eat octopus) or sneak up on their prey (things that the octopus eats). The other cephalopods have other great adaptations, like making light or a shell for protection, but it does is not as useful as the octopus ability to camouflage for hunting or hiding.

  8. I think the chambered nautilus has the best adaptations for survival. One reason is that this organism's shell provides protection for them. The animal pulls itself inside the shell when its being attacked. The next reason is because of the tentacles without suction cups. The ridges on the tentacles helps with gripping onto prey and feeding the beak. Another reason is that their chambers are filled with gas, which gives them buoyancy. The final reason why is because of the organism's hiding skills. At day, the organism dives into deeper water so that predators can't find them easily. These are the reasons why the chambered nautilus is the fittest of the survival of the ocean.

  9. After gaining background knowledge of adaptations used by squid, cuttlefish, octopus, and the chambered nautilus, I believe that the octopus has the most effective adaptations for survival. I believe this because the octopus has the most adaptations for survival. Like the squid, the octopus inks to confuse or startle its predators, it has a sharp beak for eating, and it also has suction cups on its arms to grab prey and/or hold onto rocks, but that’s not all of its adaptations. An octopus also has camouflage for hiding from predators or hunting their prey. Also, octopus live in the Neritic Zone. There are many varieties of fish and other sea creatures that live in that zone and many predators to the octopus, so camouflage is an important adaptation when it comes to being a octopus. I believe that the octopus has the most effective adaptations for survival because it has ink to confuse or startle its predators, it has a sharp beak for eating, suction cups on its arms to grab prey and/or hold onto rocks, and it can camouflage to keep away from predators or help it sneak up on its prey.

  10. I think the octopus has the most effective adaptations because the octopus has no bones, can quickly change colors and it has 8 legs/arms. One reason I think it has the most effective adaptions is because it has no bones. The octopus having no bones lets it move into small areas getting away from proprietors and letting it get food. Another reason the octopus has the most effective adaptions is because it can change colors quickly. This helps it by letting it sneak up on prey and camouflaging it self to lose praetors. The last reason the octopus has the most effective adaptions is because it has 8 legs/arms. The 8 legs/arms help it by walking across the ocean floor and grabbing prey. The octopus has the most effective adaptions because it has no bones, it can change color quickly and because it has 8 legs.

  11. I think the squid most effective adaptations for survival because it has skin that can’t let prey or predators see the squid. Squid have two arms that they hold their prey in and they shove the prey into their mouths. Squid also have three line of defence they are blending in with the environment, turning white to scare predators, and inking.

  12. I think the squid has the most effected adaptions to its survival. One of its adaptions is camouflage sense there are a lot of predators in the sea the squid can blend in with its surroundings for its predators to not see it. Another adaption is their siphon this helps them get away from predators faster, it jets out water and its bullet shaped head helps them jet through water faster. There are so many other adaptions to the squid’s habitat. But I think that the squid has the most effected adaption for survival.

  13. The octopus has the most effective adaptations for survival. The octopus can blend in with its surroundings. The octopus can also turn white to scare away it’s predators if camouflage doesn't work. The octopus can also ink a predator to get away if all else fails.

  14. I think the octopus has more adaptations because they are really smart. I think this because they are able to blend in with its surroundings. (plants and ground) They also are able to blend in by texture. (smooth, rough, ect.) Some octopus hides in its shells such as a coconut to escape predators. Octopus’s camouflage, then if that does not work they move fastly and spread ink to confuse the predator. Their tentacles have these sensors on the bottom of their tentacles so they can see what they are grabbing on to and to find food to eat. Octopus’s also have a beak-like mouth to help them crack shells. Some kinds of octopus are so small that they can fit inside a coconut. They also have a body part called the syphyn, that helps them swim. The syphyn acts like a jet that pushes the water out and, then the octopus uses their arms to swim away.

  15. I have decided that the octopus has the most effective adaptations for many reasons. For starters, the octopus has the ability to change color and skin texture when needed. It can change to any color or texture that it needs to in order to blend in with its surroundings, hiding itself from its predators, that could be very useful, especially when the octopus is in danger. The octopus can also squirt ink to lose its predators. There will be cloudy water from the ink, blurring the predators vision, giving the octopus a chance to get away. These adaptations help the octopus to survive by helping it get away from danger. I think the octopus’s adaptations are the most useful out of the cephalopod family.

  16. After gaining background knowledge of the four cephalopods I think the squid have the most effective adaptations. I think this because they have many helpful adaptations like being able to ink and get away from predators the only other one able to do that. Also they have a syphon this tube like structure is used for many things like to excrete waste, being able to move and to have the ink come out. Without this they would not be able to survive. They also have eyes on the side of their head so they can see predators from behind and on the side. Lastly they have a different skin color or pattern on both sides of their mantle. On the top is a color that blends in well with the ocean floor so predators don't see them from above. On the bottom of the squid they have a ocean like color to blend in to the top of the ocean so they can sneak up on predators.

  17. I think the octopus’s changing color and texture is the most useful adaptation because if a predator is trying to hunt it the octopus can change color and texture to blend in with it’s surroundings almost instantly. Also if an octopus needs to hide from it’s prey to pull a surprise attack it can change color and texture to surprise it’s victim. All though other cephalopod adaptations are very useful this one I think is the most convenient and easy to pull off.

  18. After learning about four kinds of cephalopods, octopus, cuttlefish, chambered nautilus, and squid, I have come to a conclusion that the octopus has the most effective adaptations for survival. The octopus has many adaptations to keep predators away including squirting their predators with ink to confuse the predators. This ink affects their taste and sight. Octopus also have startle defense. Startle defense is where the octopus move suddenly and startle their predators. The last adaptation octopus have to keep predators away is their camouflage. Octopus have a very sharp beak that helps them bite and eat their prey. Octopus also have suction cups on their arms which helps them grab prey and hold onto rocks. In conclusion I believe that the octopus have the best adaptations out of the four cephalopods.

  19. I think the cuttlefish has the best way of disguise. It has a shape that lets it blend into its surroundings. It can also take the color of almost anything even though it is color blind. When it needs to, a cuttlefish can disguise itself when hiding from predators and blend into pretty much anything. For example, it can make its skin stick out and make patterns to help blend in with the things around like coral. When they hunt they can change colors really fast. Their color change ability is controlled by the nervous system, and it hypnotizes the prey so the cuttlefish can snatch the prey by shooting two long tentacles and catching the prey. That is why I think that the cuttlefish has the best way of disguise.

  20. The octopus has the best adaptation out of all the cephalopods. One cool adaptation is the ability to squirt ink. When the octopus squirts it's ink it will confuse the predator, thus giving it time to run away. Another cool adaptation is the ability to camouflage in with its surroundings. In the video the octopus disappeared until it thought it was found showing the last of the adaptations. The last adaptation is the ability to flash a bright white when the octopus thinks it is found. This will also confuse the predator. I think the octopus has the best adaptations out of the cephalopods.

  21. After gaining background knowledge of adaptations used by squid, cuttlefish, octopus and the chambered nautilus, the squid has the most affective adaptions. First, the squid is able to camouflage into rocks and hide from predators. This happens because of the squids skin, it is always moving and always aware.Second, the squid can ink its predators away. This gives it a good head start. Last, the squid has huge eyes and can see both directions. Though it has a blind spot in the middle it is still a great adaption.

  22. After gaining background knowledge about the squid, cuttlefish, octopus and the chambered nautilus, I would choose the octopus for a few reasons. First I would choose the octopus because it can mimic other species and blend in from predators and prey. Second I would choose the octopus because it can shoot ink to disguise itself kind of like a smoke bomb in super hero movies. The third reason why I would choose the octopus is because it can grow or shrink in order to escape. In conclusion the octopus has many life saving adaptions which is why I chose the octopus.

  23. The organism that has the best survival is the squid and I am going to tell you why in this paragraph. The squid has great adaptations like it’s camouflage, ink, and its great suction cups. The camouflage of the squid helps it hide from predators that could out swim them if they were to get in a close call. As a backup plan if the camouflage hasn’t fooled the predator then the squid will ink them and swim away. The ink tends to get in the predators eyes or mouth which makes them stop and regain composure but by the time the predator is ready the squid is gone. Squids also have suction cups that can help them latch onto rocks, prey, etc. The suction cups are very sticky the suction cups are located on the squids arms. They are bumpy and lumpy in the skin. These are some of the great adaptations of the squid to help it survive.

  24. Adaptations
The Octopus has developed many adaptations in order for it to survive in its environment. One of there adaptations are there arms. They use there arms to grip on to things or to push off the ocean floor. The Squid has many adaptations too. One is that they have very good eyesight and might be able to see color. One Cuttlefish adaptation is that they can camouflage with this specialized skin that allows them to change color. One adaptation for the chambered Nautilus is that it can use it’s jet force to attain speed. The organism I think has the most effective adaptations for survival is the Cuttlefish. I think that because the cuttlefish is able to camouflage so it could hide from predators. If the Cuttlefish camouflages when they see a predator they would be able to hide easily because they can change color and be camouflaged. That is why I think the Cuttlefish has the best adaptations to survive.

  25. Although all three of these cephalopods have great adaptations to survive. Out of all three cephalopods I think that the octopus has the best adaptations to survive. The octopus has three helpful adaptations so it can manage to live in it’s harsh ocean habitat. One adaption is that it can change colors to blend in with plants. So if anything tries to kill it can hide easily. Another adaptation that has to do with getting away from predators is jet propulsion. Jet propulsion get the octopus away from enemies at a high speed. The octopus has eight legs and tentacles, the tentacles have suctions cups. The suction cups to stick and hold on to the prey, so no matter what the prey isn’t going anywhere. The most well- known adaption is ink. The ink is used to distract the predator and even block the predator’s smell. Even though the squid does have pretty good adaptions I still think that the octopus has way better adaptations to survive in the ocean.

  26. I think out of all the cephalopods we learned about I would choose the octopus as the one who has the most effective adaptations for survival. I think this because the octopus had ink that he or she can sploosh out to blind their enemies in the ocean. Like if something was trying to eat them or attack them. Also, some octopi have the ability to blend into the area they are in. this helps them survive because then the predator can't see them, since they camoflosh so well.

  27. I think that octopi would have the best survival techniques. I think this because they can camouflage their skin to hide from predators. They also have suction-cups on their tentacles to grab and hold onto prey and other things. Octopi also have ink so if a predator spots them and gets to close, they can blast it in the predator’s face and run and hide.

  28. I think that squids would be the ones that would have the best survival technique.Lets take the colossal squid for example. The colossal squid is not hunted by anything except sperm whales. They have large tentacles for grabbing prey and a large beak for eating. They also have squid ink to squirt at predators to keep them away.So really I think the squid would be the best for survival. By the way I think the squid and the octopus are equal in survival abilities.

  29. I think the squid has the most affected adaptations for it’s way of life.It is more affective than octopus. The squid can squirt ink and swim the other direction it was swimming to get away from predators. This is an affected adaptation on the squids life because of how it can survive to live another day. To escape from it being eaten. The squid can also camouflage and hide under rocks. Their bottoms can blend in with the surface so when predators look up they can't see him. That is why I think the squid has the most affected adaptation than all the other kinds of octopus.
